The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is a professional organisation of counsellors and psychotherapists. One of its primary responsibilities is to monitor and maintain a high standard of professional conduct. As a member, I adhere to their strict code of ethics. The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is responsible for maintaining high standards in the practise of psychotherapy for the benefit of the public. As a trainee Psychotherapist working towards accreditation to the UKCP I adhere to their professional code of ethics.

BACP is an organization which:

* promote research and education in psychotherapy and disseminate the results of any such research.

* promote, preservation and protection of public health by encouraging high standards of training and practice.

* promote psychotherapy and the wider provision of psychotherapy for the public benefit.
